My name is Karl Walkinshaw. When I was three years old, my Dad took his own life. As I grew up I had to seek out coaching and leadership in order to escape from an 11th floor block of council flats (that would regularly be set on fire!) where my single Mum lived with myself and my brother.
I first came across coaching in sport and, through hard work and a desire to improve my life, I was successful in playing for my country and abroad and saw how powerful being around coaches could be.
I studied philosophy and psychology to get answers for myself on how to lead a life of meaning and purpose and how to avoid what had happened to my Dad. When I was 25, out of my depth and running a large complex programme, I was allocated an Executive Coach by the government. I was so impacted by the work I took every piece of training I could, including NLP, executive coaching, sports coaching, men's work and spiritual practices. The programme I was working on ended up being one the best in the country and I went on to lead many more.
I then started to coach others and fell in love with the process, whether that is coaching executives or Great Britain's athletes. But I don't just coach. As a contractor, I continue to consult and deliver on large-scale transformation programmes in a range of different sectors.
I'm a life-long student of human behaviour, performance, relationship and leadership. My gift is to see how powerful a leader you are, even when you don't see it, and to coach you to create yourself as an authentic leader with genuine and lasting impact.
